Available from launch day, pre-order for free goodies
High street mobile gurus Carphone Warehouse today announced that they will be amongst the first in the UK to stock the new HTC One handset.
The highly anticipated handset will be available from release day (March 15th), though CW were quick to point out that those interested in the handset can pre-order by calling 0800 925 925. The first 1000 pre-orders will earn themselves a pair of Beats™ headphones for their trouble.
The HTC One runs on Android 4.1 – Jelly Bean and is 4G capable (though EE are still the only UK provider offering this service so far, thanks Ofcom).
The 4.7″ LCD display has a native full-HD resolution (1920×1080). You also get “HTC BoomSound™ dual frontal stereo speakers with built-in amplifiers”, which sounds pretty neat.
It’s also almost completed shaped from alumiunium and glass, so no cheap plastics in sight.
Graham Stapleton, Chief Operating Officer at Carphone Warehouse says:
“The developers of the HTC One have taken some of the best features and technical specifications of phones already on the market and improved on them to deliver the next big thing in smartphone technology. The update to HTC Sense 5.0 and introduction of HTC BlinkFeed represents a significant overhaul to the operating system that provides a cleaner overall experience and features a more user-friendly streamlined home screen.
“With the souped-up processing power of its 1.7GHz Quad core Snapdragon 600 processor, super high res screen and ultrapixel camera, this device will change consumer expectations of what a high end smartphone is capable of – we’re certain Carphone Warehouse customers will want to snap one up and are predicting that the HTC One will be one of the top selling phones of 2013.”
