Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U both sent out press releases today to state that, come February, they’ll both be stocking the hotly anticipated Sony Xperia™ Z smartphone.
Claiming to have the “world’s sharpest, boldest and brightest display”, the Xperia™ Z has been created by the same Sony engineers who work on the Bravia TV lineup, which they claim has the worlds highest pixel density of any smartphone (that title currently belongs to Apple, I believe), and allows the phone to display 1080p content natively.
That sure sounds impressive, and Sony haven’t stopped there. They also claim the Xperia™ Z will be dust resistant and, get this, waterproof.
That’s the sort of technology normally reserved for things like the (otherwise terrible) JCB Toughphone.
There’s also a 13mp camera built in, and Near Field Communications that will allow streaming of media to a compatible Sony Bravia TV by touching the Xperia™ Z to the TV’s remote control.
